Rippling Ribbons
Rippling ribbons of light paint the night,
fluttering in an ebony sky.
And undulating waves of color,
slip-slide across the blackness of space.
Within Nature's natural cadence,
Aurora Borealis dances.
A symphony of cotillions,
conducted in abject solitude.
A melody of visual notes
plays out like music within my soul.
And soon, its hypnotic rhythmic hum
awakens my imagination.
Like the ethereal breath of God,
the Northern Lights are intangible.
And my soul soars beyond flesh and bone,
lured by the waltz wrinkling the night sky.
