Sweet Time, Give Me More

Sweet Time, Give Me More Sad rain fell like hard and raw mental pain as great doubts showered my soul on it's quest to youthfully love , live again Deep within the fight still shifts and wages little battles fought with tiny jabs of reminding pains as my body quickly ages Love does it's best to lessen such slashes as battles renew each newborn day in glory's sunrise as sweet time still passes!!! Robert Lindley, 06-08-2014 Sweeter the life the more dreaded the coming ending, fading shadows and low whispers remind me never can cheat death, so stop so foolishly pretending!

Hi, Robert. You know, there is nothing sweeter than the wisdom that comes from the time and experiences we have been given. And to have someone to share those later years of life is quite a blessing, indeed. You are a fortunate soul and as a writer your opportunity to share is far greater. Bless you my friend for sharing....Robert.

Thanks my friend.. I accept it as a reality but not inclined very much to favor it as an ending. Love your verses my friend!

Maybe the latter half of life shouldn't be a fight to stay young, but rather a celebration of how far we have come.... You speak very wisely about a day that we all must face. Great work, my friend!

Thank you Kelly. Just found out a dear friend in the Philippines passed away early this morning. He was only 67 but knew his days were numbered for the last 2 years. Still a shock to know he is gone!

Hello, Robert...yes, it is hard to contemplate the inevitable coming end, but for those who have made reservations in Heaven it is just a doorway to all that is perfect. Thanks for your appreciation of my work.

Thank you Faye. True another doorway will open... Yet my thought is I want to be here until my son is an adult..

This is a lovely write, Robert! Makes more sense after reading your poetic footnote and your first reply to Andrea. You have not had it easy; may you keep in good health and feel as young as life permits:) // paul

by the way, you are not even 50 yet, are you?? I recall you mentioned at my blog having some small kids? You are just a young sprout to be writing like this yet.

My friend, how I wish it were so!!! A young sprout I strive to be now but reality says no way ! However writing here helps me feel young again!! Does that count???

hey, you even added a great rhyme underneath your name!! Yeah, after 50, our poems will revolve more and more around the theme of time and nostalgic poetry!! It's all so human,

I turned the big Six O' a mere 3 months ago. Had heart attack 3 years ago and only then started to slow down. Previous to that I had crammed in 3 lifetimes into that 57 years! Lived large and very, very hard.. Thanks for commenting my friend. Second rhyme just sprung up like a man sitting suddenly on a sharp tack...lol
