it is what it is sunrise either warm or cold a light in the sky the sun is being and the keeper of the time for billions of eyes as the sunrises it sets half a world away my east and your west

congrats, that final verse is the clincher...I had a win in p.d's sunset one, you painted the sunrise and I painted the sunset, it is what it is...

"My east and your west..." what a great line, John. It solidifies the somber mood of the poem. I like the way you described the sun as being "the keeper of time" and it adds a sense of urgency for the couple to meet in the last verse. Great work! Love, carolyn

Enjoyed your Haiku John. We are doing a different form of Haiku which is a shorter version of the traditional 5-7-5. I must say I struggle with Haiku but am on face book with the Haiku group. We have Deb G and Charles who help us out immensely on this new form. love phyl
