Solace Given, Life Renewed You eagerly sought ease and comfort I sought love and sweetness again You sought only for yourself I sought for my best friend Heartache and rage took turns slicing my heart like bread Contempt and hate you groomed daily stabbing my soul instead A man can only love so deep then rage silences his spirit Given the best of my love and music you refused to even hear it You kissed and fondled your addiction I your former spirit and love You sent pain and suffering I begging divine help from above We found time brought a resolution one we did not truly understand Different paths we both were given answered prayer, a gifted plan.. Thanks my friend. Events in our lives both good and bad shape us and shape our hearts.. The trick is to find a way to advance even from the lessons learned from the bad ones while happily embracing the good ones
