Sleep, Sleep My Precious Mind

Let no eye blind itself from my art No ear bid deaf to the cry of my humble heart I once stood at the top where many set foot today only to topple upon my eyes Empty, a volume far in depth to ever achieve maximum level Why have I fallen? My heart weeps in agony Pity feel not for its strength glows with rage I scream to top my lungs, and still I am not heard My eyes shut and my light fades me guilty Perfect far from it, I fail even more My pages grow weak, my lines begin to populate with negativity Am I to walk in no direction? I lose to my own game Where the rules have been corrupted and know I am the enemy If only I could have done otherwise, if only that My mind sings to my fallen spirit Where I held hands once stood my guardian angel If only my heart could hear, if only that

Excellent write, I enjoyed reading this piece. As adults we do tend to forget how minute we truly are in the scheme of things.

Excellent Eduardo! I know what you mean. Although we become adults we forget in this great universe we are all really children, growing, thriving, reaching! We think we have failed many times but we see it from our own perspective. God bless. Love and peace, audrey

Sometimes we are our own worst enemy, but a journey in either direction begins with one step, and when you take the step of faith, the other foot follows...Raul
