From Heart To Heart

Children placed in foster care are quickly shuffled from heart to heart. Breaking links in a chain of love goodbye; precedes every new start. Wary eyes scan every fresh face, trying to catch a glimpse of hope. But intolerance and half-truths obscures their sight, and so they cope. Love; is but an empty promise delivered by a silver tongue. For it is oft misunderstood or disbelieved in hearts so young. They are shackled to hope and fear, feelings felt from an early age. And upon questioning their fate, they oft succumb to inner rage. And are deemed undesirable right up to their eighteenth birthday. Upon which, labeled a burden, they are abruptly sent away.

Emile, a sad situation for these innocent children, through no fault of their own, dealt such a terrible fate, your poem captured this pain so well ~~
