In my youth’s frolic at King Lear and Pi, its games I’d play and against rules I’d rail. Not algebra, not prose did edify yet time and test we must pass lest we fail. To learn and open closed minds to ideas but I learnt before a fall cometh pride with a conspiracy one alone bears yet co-conspirators had much to hide! For each lame alibi concealed misdeed, each mad sedition blotted my ledger but we all did a true life lesson heed - one of Risk and Fate in equal measure. Comic is the jester and clown in school but I see now that I was no wise fool. Written: May 1992 Pic above: The old Windsor Park Hotel is in the background. It is 1977 and I am just 16 years old. below: With friends below the trees of Rangitoto College.
