Sailor's Glee

" Sailor's Glee " Now comes ol' sailor a'full o'glee Down town wharf to set a'sea Stumbled tripped he so did Lost to him his dozen quid! Down dark mole into wake O'merry sloop set sail did make Booty lost such thus so Treazure gone before moon glow! Oh Me! Oh My! Whot's in me eye? 'Twas such could'st be a firefly? Nay! Nay! Naught such thus silly thought Fer a'tuppance 'ad me grog been bought! Methinks meshould 'ave gone to wood If'n only 'twere so I could Yet now metoime 'as come & gone 'Tis such as naught but silly song! As only sailors might so sing A'fright all birds off to wing Done ayre they o'landman's blues Seek so now they 'nother krewe! Off to go a'set more sail Catch those winds from North do wail Bound again to welcome wonder N'er consider landsought blunder! Waves & winds & seas so deep As thus from glum their minds did'st keep North then went such soggen krewe Drippin' wet with fog & dew! 'Til day did'st come sun a'burst Woke in them such sudden thirst Port the ship! Hail that shore! Outta grog must 'ave some more! Rammed town wharf with 'er sprit Down 'er tops'ls all a'split O'er rails onto mole Each & every sailor soul! Run to tavern get that grog Naught at sea but soggy fog We krewe shall sit now with our lasses 'Tis best thus such way time passes! Now as they sat & all lassies danced Aloft did'st brew such winds o'force As such to break all but sea chance So off again set sailors forth! Thus came all sailors a'full o'glee Down town wharf to set a'sea Stumbled tripped they so did Lost to them last dozens quid! SeaWolf ©
