Sailing Free
On a cool, crisp spring morning
There, tossed in the bottom of the boat,
Is a life jacket, so bright orange
Sea green abyss lay below my vessel
With the northern breeze
My spirit quietly nestled
To invite,
and pleased am I , my little sail boat and I thrust onward
My sails are free and billowing white
Wind in my face, across the deck here, sheer delight
The sun is beaming and throwing its shadows this day
Just the wind and I,
on a journey to nowhere”, I say
Not a care
Threads of wind brush the blades of my hair
