Rock-Solid Float

Written by Gail DeBole on January 5, 2013 Updated on April 7, 2017 With you on the Ground… And I floating… Every once in a while A breeze lifts me The clouds hide me The sun warms me And you tug on my String and I join you On the ground Ever so briefly Until there is a reason to float Even for a few minutes Do not let go Of my string My arms kite-spread Thinking I like this There would be nothing But a floaty feeling Nothing to keep me here If you weren’t there to tug me down A raindrop splashes on my cheek You tug me away Before the Downpour hits.
