Rock Me - the 6th Street Series - Part 3
1:50 am
The crowd thins, last call is shouted,
the gear is stored as the last patron leaves
Glasses washed and bottles tossed,
I hop down off of the stage watching her
The Shiner clock now reads 2:15 am,
sidewalks are quiet except for the lost ones,
can't find their cars or their heads for that matter
Good thing, they shouldn't be driving anyway
Tight jeans, that black T, hair pulled back,
she says good night to her employees, turns the key in the lock,
then leans against the bar, another long night
Neon lights illuminate her face and I smile
"You up for some breakfast babe, or something else?"
She wraps her arms around my neck
and in a playful voice says, "something else"
Then she kisses me and I fall in love all over again
"You were great tonight," she says with a sincere grin
"You were better," I answer kissing her again
"So what did you have in mind boss?" I tease
"You're the rock star...rock me," she teases back
Another Friday night on 6th Street
The club, the crowds, the music, the feeling
There's something very special about this place
as I take her hand...the night is young
Please check out parts 1 and 2 if you get a chance
The 6th Street I am talking about is in Austin Texas. It is the center of the musical world in that city. You can find any kind of music you like being played live in any of a number of different clubs on this street
There are 4 parts to this series if you care to see them. Actually there are 5, but # 5 would probably be a bit much for this site.
