Respect Amidst Diversity - the Hexsonnetta

We each define ourselves by choice of words we speak, the things we do, or seek, within our minds they delve. We cannot say some elves have tricked our minds when weak. We can’t presume to know so practice some restraint, or make faux pas then faint. To you my friends, I show I care but don’t kowtow, please know I’m not a saint. Diverse, we still expect some semblance of respect. 22 August 2015 The HexSonnetta Contest Sponsor: Andrea Dietrich

You penned a powerful connection among diversity. Respect comes both ways, it is earned. If we take a serious interest in someone, we should always know the boundaries protecting his/her personalities. 7 (^_^) Noel.

Respect is a word bandied about these days, but from where I sit there isn't a lot of it going on. To some respect is a weakness, and those with respect are treated badly because of it. I hope to see the day when respect will again be worth its true meaning. Sorry! Didn't mean to get upon my soap box when I began commenting on you well done poem. Have no idea what a hexsonnette is . . . Heh.Heh Showing my ignorance.

Hello Jerry, long time! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think that the respect we wish to enjoy, we can start by practicing it in our dealings with others regardless whether they deserve it or not. Maybe those who do not give it have not received it much in their young lives. Whether we think people have moral ascendancy or not, at the end of the day, we know we have defined our character amidst diversity, IMHO. About the form, I have copy pasted the description above, and the piece is an entry to an ongoing contest sponsored by its creator. Glad to see you're active again and would be happy to visit in a bit. Welcome back!

Hi Kim! I believe that respect goes a long way to make the world a better place. Imposition and a better than thou attitude are to be discouraged. Hugs // paul

Hello Kim, A little respect goes a long way. Nice thoughts, well written. It is a diverse world with everyone affected by their environments and experiences, however, it is just as easy to be nice, and much more stimulating to the sole. John
