Oh, the sweet drumming of rain and tapping of raindrops,
the great loud thunder, and whispering, swishing,
. . . . . . splashing of cars;
cleansing the city, oh the distant rolling and deep echoing,
then the power and anger of a summer rain storm.
Wet foliage and the call of hidden birds chirping melodies,
the muffled hum and the constant dripping of the storm;
flashes and flickering of lightning in the dark streaked sky,
oh sweet the dripping, dripping, dripping, dripping, dripping,
. . . . . . . dripping, dripping.
The hush of fading raindrops and the gentleness that embraces,
peacefulness and tranquility wrap around me like a dark cloak;
oh, the hypnotizing rain, rain, rain . . . . . . . .
. . . . . falling, falling, falling, falling,
and the sweet scented fresh smell of my flower garden.
A calmness envelopes my heart, soul and spirit in peace,
oh, the stillness after,
. . . . . . . the cleansing beauty of a rainstorm.
