Rain

( Rain ) I was standing by the window, when it started to rain. I could see it coming down. I remember being sad. That's the way I always felt, everytime it rained. I remember sometime back when I once walked in the rain. I was feeling very sad and I started to cry. My tears mixed in with the rain drops. The people that passed by, looked at me and saw me, but could not tell I was crying. Since then I wait until it rains, than I go out and cry in the rain. As I stand here now and wartch the rain through the window, I can feel the tear drops fall - from my soul into my heart...

I really, really liked that pause at the end. It felt like it was subtly building up to that point and then... wow. You're different than other poets I've read on the Soup. You use the simplest of words and statements, but yet it moves me because I can tell that you're very honest and true to yourself when you write... it oozes from your words.

Wow! What a meaningful and deep piece of writing! I loved it! I love the rain, by the way. Always have! My mother did too! Since she's been gone, it keeps me connected somehow. Thanks for your visit and your lovely comments on my poem! Hope the inner rain doesn't last long.

This is so sad, I don't think I have ever done that, I am happy NOT to cry as often as I did in my youth. It hurts to cry! Thanks so much for reading my work. Light & Love

Dear Lucilla, that is fine to cry when it rains but you should also go out and laugh when it's sunny that way the balance is restored! Have a nice V Day! Beautiful writing, very moving and human!

I like this one, Lucilla, it touches something deep which a poem is supposed to do, so I believe. Just one thing - edit your stuff for typos. YOu will get a larger audience. LOve, daver
