Puff the Magic Dragon - Part Deux
PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON - PART DEUX
Puff the magic dragon lived by the ocean,
Frolicked in the autumn mist and thoroughly enjoyed the motion.
Little Jaqueline Paper loved that rascal Puff;
But sometimes didn’t play with him cos he didn’t like girlie stuff.
In the hot sun they would wander pushing dolly strollers:
Puff was not too happy at this cos he was missing the seaside rollers.
Barbie and Ken and lots of other other plastic boys and men
Had no pirate appeal for him; they were just too girlie and wooden.
Now dragons live for ever but not so little girls.
Giant dolls and paper trolls make way for curves and curls.
One grey night it happened : Jaqui came real late,
And when she did arrive it was just to say I’m sorry but I had a date
Puff’s head was burnt with sun rays - he’d just about had enough.
Puff no longer strollered on Cherry Lane cos the sun was too darn tough.
He found a boy for a lifelong friend, and mist-frolicked again, somewhat bolder,
And decided never again to play Barbie with girls who were just that little older.
