Poverty

Darkness and stillness are my friends I am poverty and beggary is my trend A matter of surprise but a subject not to hide Ignorance is my mother and I am a fatherless child Soaked in blood and covered with mud I live in this world like a hopeless bird. if the whole world turns like me? A little carelessness turns out to be Sinking deep in this dilapidated sea I cry for a life, I cry for your mercy!

You have a strong passion and heart, Red... I do hope your world is growing into a different better. We live and grow every moment with so much mud. I'm very moved by the way you once had no choice but to make darkness your only friend. You write so well even then... Love Linda

A social poem that is not always visible, but it does exist, in some countries more than others. You do well to be a voice for these unfortunate ones. Regards // paul

There is no need for poverty today. We have 97% of the riches of the world owned by 3% of the population, a disgrace to humanity. Vince

Wonderful poem, so often we ignore them and please our souls by giving out a rupee or two but is that enough or is that really needed. (Are you from hyderabad ? i used to have a friend by that name.)

As we become more affluent, we have a tendency to look the other way. We need to see with our hearts. Vince
