Poverty

today i think i'll write about the poor not the ones lacking things they can't afford but the poor in spirit who think they need more so they can buy love of people they adore money is'nt everything you can't put feelings in every diamond ring fancy party's and huge ball's rarely show the meaning of it all we all know that these are gifts but what are they when spirits they do not lift a conceided attempt and act of fraud a bribe for emotions to act the part eventually the truth speaks to the heart painfully the truth tears them apart worth more dead than when alive at the tender age of eighty nine a hardened heart to keep from crying an unsaved soul to keep from dying the illusion of riches continuously lying of the healing gifts they keep on applying powerless they are to stop deneighing for the love that they need they just keep on trying if only they knew where their real gifts are their not in their pockets but deep in their hearts

Excellent sentments. Too much value is put in the things that turn into dust. A smile can be a priceless gift when given at the right moment. If you have love in your heart and in your life you are far richer than any amount of money one can have. Great write, John. Love, Robin

Very true, money isn't everything, and as my family is not financially well off, it's something I remember every single day. However, as long as we have family and love, we're quite rich. Thank you so much for your comments on my poem "Lament of the Philosopher's Hound"! ~Juliane

Hey to you, John! This is an inspirational piece, one perhaps, that comes with its own riches. I believe that one may try to make deposits in the wrong places, and might not make an advance in their spirituality. This reaches down much further..into the recesses of one's soul pocket. Wealth does appear to be at different levels...here you have made it clear where it should be the most treasured.:) God bless you and yours..wishing you the best! Mikki

such a deep and heartfelt write, and the truth within this write, money can not make one happy, I'd rather have a man that truly loves me than have a man that gives me everything that I want materially but does not love me, I love this write, thanks for your comments, take care D-nyce

This is just awesome and is right on point with what is taking place in today's society. We need to speak up for the poor in heart and in spirit. Some just don't have a voice and are shut out of the main stream. This is America, the land of the free and the home of the brave. How free and brave are we really? The rhyming pattern is excellent and flows right down the page exquisitely. Great job! ~Joseph
