Pooh Bear - Dare

Alan Alexander Milne wrote books about his son, Christopher Robin, and his toys. There was a tiger, a piglet, a kangaroo and her joey, a donkey, and a bear, Winnie the Pooh. Christopher Robin named his bear after a black bear at London zoo. The original Winnie was bought from a hunter in Canada; she became a regiment’s mascot in World War One, and was donated to the zoo after the war. Later drawn with a short red sweater, revealing his rotund tummy, Winnie the Pooh became a household name. Jack Horne for PD's Dare contest

Wow! You must have done some historical research and you know I lov poems that teach us about the past. Amazing how Winnie the Pooh grew into a "household name." Best wishes in PD's contest. I took "truth," but it really turned out to be a dare. LOL Love, Carolyn

What a sweet write, sweet as honey :) I'm sure Winnie would agree with me! I enjoyed the history of the bear and Christopher Robins and how he named the bear Winnie based on the bear at the zoo! I like how you brought together how Alan Alexander Milne wrote stories based on his sons toys! Great Work!!
