Poet Heart, 1973
In the bittersweet, luscious years of youth,
the poet heart sought the quintessence of truth.
Life was arcane, confused and ambivalent,
sometimes exciting, sometimes quiescent.
I used my passion for meditation,
and my wild days faced immolation.
I moved from the grand and flamboyant,
to seek out the real and relevant.
Growing a poet heart, not tactile,
having ideas that give words style.
Writing the dreams of a crying nation,
an intercessor for the "Pepsi Generation."
