Agony

I lie awake thinking of the agony. Life has pierced through my heart. The pain of loss what could have been. How can there be life without life. I fear not the thought of death. You see, with death there is peace. So what is this death with pain. Edward J Ebbs - 02/28/2015

Hi Ed, another excellent write my friend. Your deep words cut through the dark. I have seen the gentle passing into death first hand, this i would have at my end but as always i shall take my end as it comes. Ed, yes with death there is peace, I know this is true, but the pain for those left behind is a life of pain, and for sure some deaths are far from peaceful, you captured this very well in your poem, best of luck in the contest and thanks for visiting my poem Oh the grief. . . and although my poetry is always melancholy, I smile a lot and enjoy life very much . . .I am very good at putting a mask on to hide the grief, only in poetry can I let it flow . . .

He is at peace Ed - passed away on 20th it is a blessing - i couldn't have watched him fade away much longer - I am coping fine for now - still managing to write with humour lol:-) Hugs jan xx

Oh Jan...sorry for you loss, I did not know your dad had pass. Mom passed a couple of years ago and although I miss her, I am at peace she no longers suffers. Not that I would ever welcome death and maybe this would not be fair, but when my time comes, I hope it comes quick and in my sleep. Take care of you and yours. You are in my thoughts...
