Once I Was, But Now I Am...
Once I was alone
But now I am with you,
Once I needed a friend
To tell my whole life to.
Once I was afraid
to start over new,
But now I have the courage
To be me, and not you.
Once I was belittled
By the friends I thought I had,
But now I am on top
Of the good, not the bad.
Once I was so weak
But now I speak my mind,
Once I was put down
And always left behind.
Once I was a child
Left alone in the dark,
But now I have grown to be
A fire, not a spark.
