On a Dark, Chilly, Lonely Night

"On a Dark, Chilly, Lonely Night" By Nicholas Giro On a dark, chilly, lonely night, One lay there full of fright. He hoped that his life would get somewhere, But there were too many shadows lurking there. He was scared of the night. He was scared of himself. The only way of escape was that book on the shelf. He opened it up to the very first page And read what was said to be the truth of the age. He flipped through the pages and read them aloud, But no longer did he wish for a crowd... He bitterly wept and bent down his head; He said a long prayer and was rid of that dread. On a dark, chilly, lonely night, One lay there who had seen the Light.

I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like.
