Of Donkeys and Elephants, Part Vi--Dear God

The only good thing is that one must lose, In the battle of Donnie versus Hill. Three-hundred million cases of the blues, Add me to the list of those who feel ill. More than that, it makes me look to the sky And in addition to all that wishin’ I’m sorry I prayed for a girl or guy Who wasn’t a career politician! But there’s something, dear God, I have to know If in your image we humans were made Were politicians made more, or less so? My little crisis of faith, I have prayed, Will no doubt resolve, but what I’m thinking: Perhaps we needed a Divine Spanking! 3/17/16

Heartburn is right, Tom. I did mention "Tums" in my poem! Another great Sonnet. Sandra

Snooze, choose, loose, take your pick. Not such a rosy group to pick from. Great sonnet Tim, just crappy subject matter.
