Chasing a Fantasy Dream
I miss you like the desert
misses distant drops of rain.
For from the moment you left,
all I ever felt was pain.
I'm sorry that I've hurt you,
you mean everything to me.
But until you walked away,
I was just too blind to see.
How stupid I must have seemed,
chasing a fantasy dream.
When all the while; you struggled
to stifle a silent scream.
Love lured you into my life,
yet my lies drove you away.
And though you deserve much more,
I'm sorry's all I can say.
Please, forgive me if you can,
I love you with all my heart.
And despite my betrayal,
I don't want to be apart.
