Neglected

You didn't listen to what she had to say
Now you understand why she went away
In your heart you long to have her back
It's not too late you will see that day

You did not recognize that you had a gift
It was sadness that caused your mind to shift
Call out and ask for her forgiveness
It will give both of your spirits a lift

She is longing to feel your warm embrace
You will see joy written on her face
She wants to be your priority
Now she knows this really is the case

A very thoughtful and heart warming poem, Richard. Much truth in the words. I think you wrote a very good rubaiyat. I'm thinking about trying my hand at one. Very good write. Ty for sharing it w/us. Btw, you have some of the most intriguing titles, good way to lure 'em in. Much love and respect from the RW (Romantic Warrior.)
