My Tooth, My Friend (Children's Poem)

I lost my tooth the other day I couldn’t find it to my dismay I looked and looked and still no! Where has my tooth decided to go? Mom told me not to cry, worry so, A brand new tooth will start to grow I didn’t care, I wanted it back! I saw my smile, I’d seen what I lacked! It was there when I first rode my bike And there when Dad and I took a hike I thought it was happy, wanted to stay I’d never thought it would go away! And just as I started to cry and sob When I was biting into my corn on the cob I felt something strange, something quite odd I looked at my Mom, she gave me a nod I ran to a mirror quick as I could And just as I always thought it would My tooth was just hiding, playing a game! Coming in where it left and it looked the same! You silly tooth, you had me worried! Now quick start to grow and please try to hurry After my corn, I’m eating some fish You know that’s not my favorite dish! So me and my tooth are together again I gave Mom a smile, I found my old friend! I finished my meal and let out a giggle That’s when I felt another tooth wiggle!
