My Sister, Juliet

My sister, Juliet, with skin so fair And auburn hair that sparkles red in light, Upon her heart weigh burdens hard to bear. Her hope is shaped by faith in heaven’s sight. While pensively she ponders earthly woes, The strength of God upon her spirit grows. For only he can soothe her aching heart, And bring that smile upon her face, fresh start. To wed had been a dream of hers since youth. The suitors came and went like spies at night. The promises they made were stained half-truths. Her father sent them running with great fright. A spinster, now, in age, yet still alone, She turns her yearning heart unto God’s throne. And begs for her fulfillment here on earth. Sweet motherhood still yearns her first child’s birth. So, pensively she ponders every night. Imagining how perfect life could be. Oh, ideal man; please free her from this plight. She’d take that leap of love; her heart set free. For life is short and dreams too soon may die. As every night her tears by pillows dry. Please honor love by taking a firm stand Do come this day and for her hand demand. No comments? What a disgrace! Start commenting on this poem you slothful soupers! I see three main things, God, love, and beauty; and God is love, and love is beauty. Makes for a very connected poem. Great description of Juliet, and congratulations on your placement!
