My Friend, the Angel
A rugged and ridged animal
Made me smile and made me think
It must be sad
To know the taste of gunpowder
And to find new ways
With lesser reason than hope,
But I have found the sight beyond the image.
I know what I've encountered
Was your thinking,
Probing ideas, wants,
A new agenda.
You once had me crying.
You once helped me save someones life
But gave me a slap
When my thoughts were unreasonable.
Through love that is lost and denied,
People will say what they want,
But I believe in prayer.
I believe I've talked to you,
My friend. You are an angel,
And as long as you're willing to listen,
As long as you're willing to know
I still miss shaking your hand,
There will be peace.
