Mt. Olivet Cemetery: Nashville

The monstrous spires uprise But never touch the skies, Vain, earth-foundationed monuments To Life’s impermanence. Expensive markers war with Time Where lichen mosses climb And cover up each hand-carved word That tells of those interred.
