Moving On

All around me Beautiful words flicker Candle flame bright Dancing on the tip of a wick Encompasing me in a soft glow Forever cascades past yesterday Gathering my thoughts Hope drips eternal I think of who you were Jesus holds you now Kiss the face of God for me Languish in a greater Love Memories will console me for a while Now is a time to celebrate you Open hearts are so rare Peace was always your prosperity Questions did not always require answers Rest from a life well lived Smile your glorious smile Time is of no consequence Use your forever well Victory lives beyond an empty vessel Wisdom flowed easily from you X really did mark the spot Yesterday was not the end of you Z to A, A to Z, last stop eternity Dedicated to Bob.

Wow, one of the best ABC poems I have seen recently. But I don't notice any win on it. Wasn't this contest judged?? Oh, it's in the Moving On contest. Well, you chose to write a very good one for that challenge and not only that, but it is so sincere and heartfelt. I just love it.

I had wanted to enter it in the ABC contest but missed the dead line. This contest seemed a good fit so I thought why not give it a go.

a good rendering of the form, which is similar in a way to the abc form - neither are very easy to write, to get them to read smoothly...I particularly like the first stanza, the concept of words flickering like a candle, beautiful :)

Thanks Charlotte, I am not particularly fond of the form because I find it to restrictive. Still it is good to challange myself.
