Moon Wave

MOON WAVE Poseidon drew up from the salty sea, a silver splash of wave from Earth to Moon. High was the crest as it arced and fell free, from the chilled night sky and onto the dune. The sand danced ribbons across the shore, it caught it's breath in the eye of a wave. Then it rolled and thundered its silken score, and dug a dune song in carving the cave. From out of the dark and damp of the hole, to slip past the shells and pools from the tide. It oozed in white foam to swallow the knoll, then pulled by the moon to start a new ride. Full Moon in the night, it prowls like a cat, to stalk the next swell, give rise, and fall flat. Oh Thank you Skat! I found I LOVE writing Sonnets. They are like a dance! Fun! Still going nuts this summer with older family at ages 67, 85, 90 and 102. I hope it gets better so I can read poetry, catch up with all of you, AND WRITE! Sigh! PS needs me to scare up annual membership (and that's a tug right now). I am trying to keep in here. I actually had to remove 4 poems to enter in contests or publications. Odd, isn't that?

Ha ha ha! You made me laugh Janice! 0F COURSE you may use Monday as an excuse, or... or... or... what about we go blind writing on these *#€#%¥ devices! Rainy days and Monday's always get me down! THANK YOU for the review and noticing the win. My peers entered some fantastic sonnets and I'm in awe of the judge that had to decide this. I saw at least THREE First prizes. How difficult!

I haven't been around but, I will read all of them & leave off a note! Thank you. I love when someone says, just write for this genre!

Superbly penned! You certainly demonstrate absolute command over all your words, Edlynn. What fantastic descriptions these are of a waves motion. An undisputed seven! My very best regards. :) john

It most certainly did work here, Edlynn! Like Ted Hughes (Poet Laureate) once said: "When writing poetry about a thing, whether it be animate or inanimate, try to think about it from that things perspective". A strange comment perhaps - But not so strange when one thinks carefully about it. My very best regards, Edlynn, as always. :) john

Oh thank you John! Nothing better that a seven from your very talented peers. I WISH I had the command over words in real life. Ha! We seldom get to mull over thoughts for an hour before speaking! We'd all do so much better if we could! Thank you for coming by and you know I'm so delighted you rode that wave with me. I'm working with kinetics now. We all right the visual, sometime the auditory but, movement is only rarely there. Did it work here?

Having just read your collab with Robert I can easily work out how your muse behaves and dances to a different tune. You sure know how to make waves:) ~ Regards // paul

Ha ha! Maybe you are detecting the ballet dancer! Good spot! It is a challenge to bring to poetry the kinetic with the challenge of implied movement as well as the auditory or visual. I think usually we give pictures. I try with some effort to get thing moving. Ha ha! Thank you Paul! A huge compliment that you used dance & tune. Ya got me in at least for Sonnets. €;-D

Thank you JAN and I hope you went for a ride. I am missing Cambria, CA and a favorite beach that I'd love to be on just now! If only I could fly! Ha! Thank you for taking the time to read and share!

You just blew me away in a good way! Lovely, intelligent expression broken down to individual elements that create the whole fierce, intense, yet mesmerizing beauty of an ocean swell. Your poem captured what cannot be captured ... 7 ... CayCay (thanks for your continued support and patience - Last night, I read the SF Street one, but in the end I could not bare my mind's visual and ran, so it was excellent.)

You are the best ever CayCay! You NEVER Rubber Stamp your reviews. This just made my whole weekend! That you became part of the wave or ran from the three men clinging to each other's ankles as they slept round a grate, is exactly my intention. Dance with me, witness the atrocities, let us be AWAKE together. Poetry is the wakes up call and we are the chimes.

I was trying to be the wave. I thought if I could think in terms of the ballet, then maybe I could do this? Thank you Connie for stopping in to read. This is a busy weekend for most! You are so thoughtful!

A great creation and those two verses were fine ones to write on my friend. I am too busy moving this weekend to do my own but will get to it soon. Every verse is a gem.... A7

Ugh! MOVE? That is the WORST four letter word I know. I'd rather pay taxes, clean toilets, kill mold, change diapers, than MOVE! I hope for you it is a GOOD move with fun adventures in store. Nice of you to stop to read this Robert. How can you even do that? I should be studying but I'm procrastinating BIG TIME! Thank you for your very kind input.
