Love Lies Lead To a Lonely Decision

My life shouldn't be like this With no hugs or loving kiss From a true love that won't leave I am fighting to believe there is someone who wont break My heart I give them to take My dreams of love were getting lost With every man that used and tossed All my feelings to the curb Leaving my mind so disturbed Never knowing what I did As my love life slowly slid Further away every time Someone lied that they'd be mine Each lie broke apart another Piece that I gave to a lover Promising I'll never get hurt Giving into every flirt And sweet words having me believing Each new one will not be fleeing Secretly into the night To hold another sweetheart tight My options were getting thin Should I just begin again Giving someone one more shot Not to break my weakened heart Or live alone, sad and keeping All my love and care from seeping Into more hurt and heartache What kind of choice should I make The decision wasn't tough My heart was broken enough So now I live quietly With no arms for holding me

I know the feeling. Once again, I felt as if I was reading a poem of my own! You described these deep emotions of sadness perfectly. Really great work, Robin!...Thank you so much for the wonderful comments. I really do appreciate it! :)

Like Peter, I also felt the sadness. The great thing about your poems is that you always manage to evoke an emotion in the reader, which, as I said, is what I think the poet's job is: to be a pricker of emotions. Kudos, Sweet Pea! <3
