Love Knot - Formerly Titled 'Indian Hit'

LOVE KNOT? There once was a girl who was smitten, On a guy she always was hittin’. He threw her a rope, Which gave her some hope, Until she saw how it was fittin’. [Just a few changes -- new title, two changed words. Makes all the difference, doesn't it?]

Nice Limerick Deb, made me chuckle. Dare I ask where it was fitting, eyes closed now....James :)

So this was previously titled 'Indian Hit' and was the poem I entered, then withdrew, from the limerick contest. I've changed the title to 'Love Knot?' and changed the word 'maid' to 'girl' and the word 'brave' to 'guy'. Otherwise, the limerick is the same. It's a funny thing, but the limerick almost wrote itself; the title was the sticking point. I never was happy with 'Indian Hit' because the poem is not unique to Native Americans. Just the same old story of unrequited love. Thanks...
