Loner Oneness

He is like a distant aloof star
in this universe we all call our home.
A tiny insignificant star and so estranged,
he is but a flicker among billions
and billions of glittering entities populating endless skies,
always waning, and yet, in the evening shadows
ever staying - unassuming, solitary, and silent.

As he enjoys fading into twilight oblivion,
no one knows of his ambitions, history or preferences.
Unnamed to everyone, he enjoys his anonymity,
watching asteroids, comets, and the other stars around him
in deep azure nights - aware - feeling a peacefulness,
a kind of security in his own remote oneness.

Very surreal Andrea... I liked the image of seeing a man floating in space, with a pen in his hand, and a whole eternity dedicated to nothing but contemplation and writing. You blow me away with your choice of words and how you elaborate your stories... sometimes I like to think I'm like this person... an anonymous seeker of beauty.

A bitter dream of somewhere far. A solemn quest upon a star. A destiny to not be shared. A silence where no sound was spared. Continual reminding rings that empty thoughts forever sing. A blissful trace upon his face of knowing that's what heaven brings. Tough contest challenge Andrea. Well done! Good luck. Toodle Loo. :)

Andrea; Terrific poem on a subject dear to me. The cosmos are part of the afterlife, I am convinced. Hope you are well. Been away for a while trying to get my novel published and recovering from heart surgery. Good to be back!
