Like Fragile Leaves

Like fragile leaves are children’s souls. Sweet innocence can never last, and winds of spiteful words tear holes. Like fragile leaves are children’s souls. With joy they fall to grassy knolls, But met with hate, they wither fast. Like fragile leaves are children’s souls; Sweet innocence can never last. For the Triolet Contest of Giorgio Veneto

Like Adrian, we are innocent. That's why it hurts so much. When someone cast's dispursions with such a hurtful touch. These two poems have touched the soul Andrea. May the little children always feel the touch of the fairy. Peace. :)

WOW, what a great poem. This is very profound. To much for me to take in all at once. I'm aware of references to mankind (men) as trees but progeny (children) as the leaves on the trees. I love it. This is the first time that I've seen such a reference in poetry and I love it.
