An Angry Sky

Roaring in like a speeding train,
there was no time for me to flee.
And my house disintegrated
into pieces all around me.
Catapulted from my spinning bed,
I was tossed around like debris.
And in a whirlwind of darkness,
it was impossible to see.
The air was sucked out of my lungs,
and I passed out, thinking I'd die.
But I found myself on my back,
buried below an angry sky.
'Twas a miracle I survived
that storm; it gave me quite a fright.
For suddenly, I realized
a tornado touched down last night.
I was trapped under some rubble,
my legs pinned by a fallen tree.
But I could hear people digging,
and thanked God someone had found me!
