Learning To Surrender

These thoughts I retrace in my mind each sin upon my heart I bind ingrained in eyes that cannot see O' God, be merciful to me This spirit that dwell deep within still calls my strands of soul to mend in my thoughts I cry desperately O' God, be merciful to me Gazing upward with tear in eye how longing breath can only sigh and guilt within won't let me be O' God, be merciful to me On cold floor I drop upon my knee I plead in love of hope to see my sin I've held without a key O' God, be merciful to me Soon a day surrender shall come to learn a gift of ancient drums of faith He says "eyes shall soon see" a lovely mercy given thee............................. ___________________________ Contest ~ "Jack OUT of the box"

Interesting treatise on the inner struggle to purge one's self of the guilty dross that stains and ultimately drains our pure fount of hope. Enjoyed your panting opine. Augustine, our mentor, hopelessly struggled with this predicament. I have written a few poems on Augustine's fulminations. Feel free to peruse them if you like.

A beautiful write of faith and learning to surrender to God's mercy, Rick. You work so well in the Kyrielle form. You needn't have any fear, mercy will surely be bestowed on your kind soul. Haven't looked at Deb's contest yet. There are toooo many contests running at once. Wishing you success! Love, Carolyn
