Goodbye
I.
I waited again for you, until sunset,
You had promised, you would come,
Abandoned sea and cloudless sky,
Was a perfect day to spend together.
Now I know you will never come,
For you I wrote, last goodbye on sand,
It too shall be washed by roaring tides,
And you will never know, I was there.
How shall I mute memories of you,
There aren't many but there are few,
Where do I mend my broken heart,
I wish we were together and not apart.
II.
I wasn't rich enough to be handsome,
Your father told me two days before,
Now I shall dwell in an unknown land,
But I kept my promise, visited the shore.
When you left, I gazed at the vacant sea,
I touched your goodbye, on wet sand,
You will never know, it wasn't the tide,
But me, who wiped it, with sorrow hand.
