Johnny, Answer the Door For Daddy, Please
Johnny, Get the Door for Daddy, Please
By Elton Camp
Dad was busy watching a movie on TV
“Johnny, who’s ringing the bell go see.”
“If they’ve got anything there to sell,
We’re not interested be sure to tell.”
Little Johnny was gone for a good while
When he came back, it was with a big smile
“There was a really nice man at our door.
It’d make me glad if he came some more.”
“He went away with a grin on his face
Said he sure came to the right place.”
Dad said, “Oh, no, what did you agree to buy?”
Johnny said, “Selling something he didn’t try.”
“He had a box of kittens he was giving away.
I told him we’d take the whole box today.”
“Having kittens will be a real bunch of fun.
Come see them as soon as the movie is done.”
