Jesus, Popi, Mothers and Me
Jesus was a carpenter. So was Popi. Mary was a virgin,
So were me and my mothers. I had white grandfathers,
And black. I'm a Southern Bell like my birth Mother.
Fences, with no borders. Still waters run, ponds, fish.
Dock of the bay. Salty mists cleanse the soulful sound.
Crabs run into shells while I build sandcastles. Neptune.
Soon I'll see Jesus, Popi, Mother, sandcastles in the sky.
