It Does Come In Due Time

My Happiness is bringing closer At its own leisurely rhythm and pace. I’m waiting for the lucky hour Here – in the dark, ordinary place. Sometimes it deviates from the way, Sometimes it seems stone-deaf or blind. I lose it when the sun fades away, But I still trust and I’m not resigned. The paths with pebbles and falling trees Cause my Joy to stumble and to fall. It pretends not to hear my pleas And my laments don’t move it at all. With hope, I arm myself with patience, Counting myriads of stars in the sky, I have to endure its absence, Watching seconds that are going by. I know, it does come in its own time, In due course, regardless of weather It’ll find me, clock at the door, and climb Into my longing heart – for ever!
