Inner City - Old Neighborhood Today

INNER CITY – old neighborhood today Not at all what it was Not yet what it must become Voices once so dear drowned out by decadent color Noise so disgustingly near Sit and think longingly on old neighborhood Shrug Shed a tear

What a very sad and emotional write, Dave--you've painted such a meaningful contrast here-- how sad indeed that sometimes, the new is worse than the old.... hugs to you

I really like this kind of poem from you, Daver. Succinct and meaningful. Hey I have been sending you comments on things at PFT. ARe you not getting my mail? Do you get PFT replies in your email box? I sure hope so! It's wonderful seeing you there and I just loved the challenge poem you did for connie. Yep my back has something that I cannot even get an explanation for. Am waiting for health coverage(if joe can keep another job he just started). How are your eyes doing?

Sad but true. Things change, and not always for the better. Here in the UK so many inner city areas are becoming run-down, with high-street shops closing and being boarded up. A strange kind of progress. A thought-provoking write.
