I can see you in the mountains,
In the valleys, on the shore.
I can see you in my dreamscape.
Won’t you smile for me once more?
I can feel you when the wind blows.
You are strong and always near.
I can feel you in the sunlight,
Burning brightly for all my years.
I must say.
Can I tell you?
There are times
I’m alone.
And I pray
That you’ll come back here
And you’ll finally take me home.
Fourteen years now I have missed you,
Missed the way you part my hair,
Missed the way you called me “lovely,”
I have missed you, mother dear.
You are often in my thoughts now
As I ready for the day
That I soon will be a mother
For your guidance, now I pray.
Teach me how
To be stronger,
To be pure,
And love like you.
Teach me how to tell my daughter
She comes from angels, thanks to you.
I will show her where to find you
In the flowers by the tree,
In the sunset and the moon shine,
Inside her and inside me.
I am here
I am ready
To love her
As you loved me
To give hope and peace and laughter
In our cottage by the sea.
The same fine home, you gave to me.
