He's So Handsome, I Can'T Believe My Ears

When I say things like my momma did When she was eighty years old “He's so handsome, I can't believe my ears” It's time for a home I'm told! The train's already left the station, no doubt You're left standing on the platform Before you cash in your chips as they say Someone feeding you will be the norm Such little things like forgetting your choppers Or getting on the bus without pants Hearing people snickering behind your back As down the crowded aisle you prance Some things are a little unusual they say Like communicating with the birdies In a language only you and they understand Or when with a mannequin you get flirty Wish me luck on the last leg of my journey Had a blast without any regrets Sure couldn't have asked for anything better My life was as good as it gets! © Jack Ellison 2013

Oh, Jack..this is a delight to read as are all your poems!..Enjoy your humor and wit...to be able to laugh at yourself is a fine thing..makes life so much easier. Besides we're all 'easing on down the road', anyway. LOL Enjoy the rest of your week, my friend. Love, Annalise

This piece was so endearing. And funny nonsense stuff, like that saying your mama used to say, is a thing to treasure. It's a bit bittersweet reading this for I'm very new to the site and I see that you have ten whole pages of poetry! I'm only getting the tip of the iceberg it seems. Very unusual, you are. I mean no offense whatsoever for I'm of the opinion that normalcy is boring... no one remembers the person that followed the crowd...

It's a family trait we all inherited from dear old momma! LOL I once said, "Look at that kid on a RED HAIRED BIKE!" or a classic my youngest sister once uttered down in Florida, "That's where the MIGRAINE workers live!" Doctors all say they can't help us! LOL

Oh jack your life is nowhere near the the end my friend! You are way too intelligent, it takes a brilliant mind to write a poem of this eloquence, a harmonious, masterful piece! I know what its like to do crazy things, I believe we all do something crazy in our lives...especially when we are dreaming! What a delightful poem this one is! Great Work!!
