Hello, Little One
I heard your laughter, so I peeked in to see you as I remember
the middle child - not the first, nor the only son
not the youngest to bask in the light as a baby
you find solace and happiness in yourself, even at your young age
You will find that having been born in the middle will come in handy
for there will be times when you'll be alone, but never lonely
your naiveté' will sometimes be your downfall, but it will
also serve to protect your innocence and trust in others...
at times misplaced, nonetheless, you will offer your heart.
I will not warn you of what lies ahead, but I will say this:
wisely use the stepping stones on your path.
If some of your steps land you in the muddy stream of life,
do not be daunted. Think of it as a cleansing.
Remain humble, keep your faith, and never regret the choices you make.
Wrong choices are easier to live with then having a notebook filled with
pages of sad poems that begin with, "What if..."
