Heavenly Marriage
An Allegorical Sonnet
`Tis old man a husband of a new bride
His old tradition, the bride, young and new
Marriage precept sworn never to divide
Is young bride‘s, idea of life pursue
Earth wealth accrued is old and moth eaten
Her youthful grace, to him a new potion
Old man with old notion is soon beaten
Her sweet spirit to him a new lotion
The old habit of having something blue
A member of earth marriage tradition
The old man is blue, young wife is quite new
Her grace must replaced his old position
Her notion, new lotion, soothed the old blue
Old becomes new, by grace of love’s pursue
For Brian’s contest
