Heard Quiet In Its Soft-Whispered Approach

Heard Quiet In Its Soft-Whispered Approach Poor old weathered James, his farm all he knew Fine crop this year, hoping for no more bad. Spring rains came and welcoming soft winds blew Yet somehow he had found lonely and sad. Through back door, he saw glowing red sunset Heard quiet in its soft-whispered approach. In his wild youth, farm was won on a bet In old age, he heard wolves howl to encroach! That night he vowed to sell that cursed place Move away to live among city throngs. Thinking, why had he blindly ran this race In anguish he asked, mercy for his wrongs! Dawn's bright rays soon upon his head did blast. He rose smiling, past woes left in the past! Robert J. I heard that things will be all right in the end. If they're not all right, it's not the end. You proved this right. A very good poem indeed and, may I say, an improvement over earlier work of yours I've read. Good job!
