Glass Half-Empty
Do you really believe what you say?
That things will be the same
after what happened that day?
What do you truly know?
Do you have a crystal ball
in which our futures show?
Please don’t pretend it’s fine.
That everything I love and dream
will all someday be mine.
Can’t you see how that makes me feel?
We both know what’s happening,
so let’s just be real.
Don’t you have hopes and dreams?
Mine have scattered and faded.
They’re unrealistic, it seems.
There’s a storm inside my head.
Each morning I begin to feel
there’s no reason to leave my bed.
Will they see it on my face?
As every day comes,
I’m more terrified of this place.
