Forgotten Words

Heartbreaking, the empty library, dust and cobwebs cover books, I turn the page of a book of age, the frayed chairs in cozy little nooks. Heartbreaking, all the forgotten works, old amber lamps light the way, of a book of age, I turn the page, maintained with love, once upon a day. Heartbreaking, are all the books I pass, words of forgotten writers, I turn the page of a book of age, like falling into deep, cool water. ______________________ January 8, 2013 Poetry/Rhyme/Forgotten Words Copyright Protected, ID 01-447-973-08 All Rights Reserved, 2013, Constance La France

It's sad to know that this generation and generations beyond will never know the smell of a book. It's great to know that the words will always be passed down but it's sad to know that they will never know what it's like to flip a page. To lick their finger to find what comes next. To dog ear a page so that they can pick up where they left off. Thanks for reminding ME of that. Rockman
