Forgotten Life, Mumma, Why Didn'T You Believe Me

Fiction. From when I was a little girl my daddy abused me,  I tried to tell my mum but she didn't believe me.  Even though Daddy told me never to tell anyone,  I was afraid he would find out that's exactly what I'd done.  But Mumma’s reaction is what he'd said it'd be,  Why would she believe the man she loves would do something so horribly!  But mummy ask yourself how could this be lies,  I'm too young to be educated about sexual acts in life, that you cant you deny.  I'm your little girl and you ignored me,  Left me alone to this abuse, how could you do this to me?  When I got a little older I realised this abuse was wrong,  I put on a brave face and finally told my English teacher through a written song.  For the first time in my life she listened to me,  But it tore my family apart we no longer lived happily.  I was told to press charges but they would take daddy away,  So I told them it was lies, as me and mummy wanted him to stay.  I put on a brave face and put up with this strife, Even though feeling captured in my own home was worse than being butchered with a knife, Now I’m older I’m struggling to ever think I could become a wife, The past still haunts me, from my forgotten life.
